Our suggestion: buy these small delicacies in a supermarket or in the Duty Free Shop at the airport, where they are offered for a reasonable price. Our Salzburger Hof staff will be pleased to inform you about the nearest store.
Avoid visiting the city within a large group:
Particularly during summer months, Salzburg is teeming with tourists and that’s what it makes difficult to discover the city’s true beauty. Avoid starting your city tour within tourist groups. Our female staff at the reception desk of Salzburger Hof will of course help you to do so.
Go to the right restaurants:

To get traditional Salzburg type cuisine, you should look around the neighborhood of Linzergasse or Steingasse. Here are some inns offering an actually very good cuisine and being less tourism oriented.
Don’t choose a crowded tavern for a drink:
During high season, don’t choose famous inns for having a drink. They use to be completely stormed by tourists und you’ll wait for a seat in vain. Observe where Salzburg natives use to go or just get a hint from the staff of Salzburger Hof.
Don’t select the first available sightseeing tour:
You should in no case opt for the first available sightseeing tour. You’ll see that innumerous tours are offered in Salzburg, in particular as regards the “Sound of Music”.
